Ingredients

Pizza Base
  • 1 batch Pizza Dough Feel free to use store-bought for convenience.
Toppings
  • 8 oz Fresh Mozzarella Opt for low moisture for best melting results.
  • 1 cup Tomato Sauce Choose a quality sauce for optimal flavor.
  • 1 bunch Fresh Basil If unavailable, dried basil can be substituted in the sauce.
  • 2 tbsp Olive Oil Avocado oil is a good alternative.

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C) for a perfect crispy crust.
  2. On a floured surface, roll out your pizza dough to your desired thickness.
  3. Spread the tomato sauce evenly across the dough, leaving a little space for the crust.
  4. Tear the fresh mozzarella into chunks and sprinkle it over the sauce.
  5. Drizzle a little olive oil on top to help everything melt and brown beautifully.
  6. Slide your pizza into the oven and bake for about 10-15 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is bubbling.
  7. Once out of the oven, sprinkle fresh basil leaves over the top.
  8. Let it cool for a minute, slice it up, and enjoy!

Notes

For an extra crispy base, use a pizza stone or preheated baking sheet. Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 3 days, and reheat in the oven at 350°F (175°C) for a few minutes.
