Ingredients

For the Cheesecake Bars
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 8 ounces cream cheese softened
  • 1/2 cup reserved sugar mixture
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 tubes crescent roll dough
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter melted
For Serving
  • To taste powdered sugar
  • To taste caramel sauce
  • To taste whipped cream

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a baking dish.
  2. In a bowl, combine 1 cup sugar and 2 teaspoons cinnamon—this will be your magic dust! Set aside half for later.
  3. Roll out your crescent roll dough into the bottom of the greased dish. It’s okay if it doesn’t cover the whole bottom perfectly; a little rustic charm adds character!
  4. Beat the softened cream cheese, egg, 1 teaspoon vanilla, and the reserved 1/2 cup sugar mixture together until smooth.
  5. Spread the cheesecake mixture over the crescent dough and then cover it with the remaining crescent roll dough.
  6. Drizzle the melted butter over the top, then sprinkle the remaining cinnamon-sugar mixture on top.
  7. Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden and bubbly.
  8. Let cool before cutting into bars, then drizzle with caramel sauce and sprinkle with powdered sugar and whipped cream before serving.

Notes

Store in an airtight container in the fridge for about 3-5 days. These bars freeze beautifully for up to 3 months; just thaw overnight in the fridge before serving.
