Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 cup Warm Water (110°F/43°C)
  • 2 tsp Active Dry Yeast
  • 1 tsp Granulated Sugar
  • 1/4 cup Greek Yogurt (Full-fat)
  • 3 cups All-Purpose Flour
  • 1 tsp Kosher Salt
  • 4 tbsp Unsalted Butter (Melted, divided)
  • 3 cloves Garlic (Finely minced)
  • 2 tbsp Fresh Cilantro (Chopped)

Method

Dough Preparation
  1. In a bowl, mix warm water, yeast, and sugar. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until it bubbles.
  2. In another bowl, combine flour and salt. Add the yeast mixture and Greek yogurt.
  3. Knead until you have a smooth dough (about 5-7 minutes). Place in a greased bowl, cover, and set aside until it doubles in size (about 1 hour).
Cooking and Finishing
  1. Divide the dough into small balls. Roll each ball out into a flat oval or circle.
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, melt 1 tbsp butter. Cook each naan for about 2 minutes on each side until golden and bubbly.
  3. Once cooked, brush the tops with the remaining melted butter, garlic, and sprinkle with cilantro.

Notes

Tips to make naan even better: Grease your hands to manage sticky dough, experiment with flavors by adding spices like cumin, and don't rush the rise for a perfect softness.
